Steps
Place the band sources
Put vocal microphones, guitar mic, bass DI, keys, and drum inputs close to the performers. Keep cable paths clear so performers can move safely.
Connect inputs to the S16
Use a simple channel order: drums first, then bass DI, guitar mic, keys, and vocal. Label or remember the order before adjusting the X32.
Build the monitoring mix
On the X32 or X32 Edit, create a safe headphone mix for each performer. Start low, then ask players what they need more or less of.
Never raise headphone sends quickly. Sudden volume jumps can hurt hearing.
Activate Powerplay HA8000
Confirm each headphone channel receives signal. Keep individual channel knobs at a comfortable level before rehearsal starts.
Start rehearsal
Let the band play one short section first. Fix obvious balance problems before the full rehearsal begins.
Optional scratch recording
If a reference recording is needed, open Logic Pro and record a quick stereo or multi-track scratch take. Name the project with date, group, and song.
End and clean up
Save or discard rehearsal audio as instructed, lower monitor volumes, coil cables, return microphones, and place instruments back on stands.
